Fukushima Travel – Red Spider Lilies in Full Bloom at Adachigahara Furusato Village

On October 3, 2025, the red spider lilies (higanbana / manjushage) reached their peak at Adachigahara Furusato Village in Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. This open-air heritage site recreates the nostalgic landscapes of the Japanese countryside, with traditional thatched-roof houses and fields that reflect the timeless beauty of rural Japan.

In early autumn, the entire area transforms into a sea of crimson, as thousands of red spider lilies bloom in brilliant contrast to golden rice fields and rustic farmhouses. This makes Adachigahara one of the most enchanting spots for autumn travel in Fukushima and a highlight for those exploring the Tohoku region of Japan. The scenery feels like stepping back in time, offering both cultural and natural beauty in one unforgettable experience.

Visitors can take peaceful walks through the village, enjoy the harmony of flowers and heritage, and capture countless photo-worthy moments. To help preserve this historic and natural treasure, a small cooperation fee of 300 yen is requested upon entry.

Since public transportation to the village is limited, we recommend traveling with Deep Japan Tours. Our tours make it easy to explore hidden gems of Fukushima and the wider Tohoku area, while experiencing authentic Japanese traditions and seasonal beauty.
