High in the mountains of Minamiaizu, Fukushima Prefecture, a spectacular summer landscape appears for only a short time each year.

Located at approximately 1,000 meters above sea level, the field covers an impressive 12 hectares. From late August to early September, thousands upon thousands of tiny buckwheat flowers cover the landscape in white.

Far from the bright lights of major cities, the mountain setting also offers the possibility of enjoying a remarkably peaceful night atmosphere.
